ESTP Engineer / ENSAPLV or ESA Architect Program

Shaping the large urban ensembles of the future, contributing to the development of attractive territories, fostering social links, preserving built heritage, or innovating to meet new needs: the role of professionals who will possess a dual competence in architecture and engineering will be major and exciting. At the interface of design and construction, arts and sciences, integrate a high-level dual program to train for a rare and sought-after profession in France and Europe: that of an architect-engineer.
 

👨🏽‍🎓 Program: The Engineer and Architect (IA) and Architect and Engineer (AI) pathways have offered a new vision of teaching these disciplines in France since 2006 with ENSAPLV (IA PLV) and since 2015 with ESA (IA ESA). These programs aim to compete with major European universities while also bridging two complementary and essential professions in the construction sector.

Engineering courses are taught at ESTP on the Cachan campus in dedicated classes, intermittently associated with the Architect and Engineer (AI) program after high school. Architecture courses are provided by each architecture school, depending on the candidate's choice of school and the selection results.

👉 POST-PREPARATORY INTEGRATION

  • Internships: “Worker” internship in the 1st year and “site manager” internship in the 2nd year via ESTP, and “practical training” internship via the architecture school in the 4th or 5th year.
  • Degrees: At the end of the program, ESTP awards an Engineering degree, and the architecture school awards a state diploma in architecture conferring the master’s degree.
  • Partners: École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris La Villette (ENSAPLV) and École Spéciale d'Architecture (ESA).
  • Admissions: Architect and Engineer (IA): Admission via competitive exam. Candidates must be enrolled at ESTP in the 1st year on the Cachan campus and then participate in an internal selection through an interview with our partners (beginning of September).
  • Recruitment: 37 places with ENSAPLV and about 10 with ESA (variable).
  • Duration of studies: 5 years in post-preparatory integration + 1 optional year (HMONP).
     

👉 POST-BACCALAUREATE INTEGRATION

  • Internships: Bachelor's and master's internships depending on the architecture schools, “site manager” internship via ESTP in the 6th year.
  • Degrees: At the end of the program, ESTP awards an Engineering degree accredited by the CTI, and the architecture school awards a state diploma in architecture conferring the master’s degree.
  • Partners: École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris La Villette (ENSAPLV) and École Spéciale d'Architecture (ESA).
  • Admissions: Architect and Engineer (AI): Admission via the Parcoursup platform. A number of candidates will be selected for a selection interview within the architecture schools, with the presence of an ESTP teacher.
  • Recruitment: 37 places with ENSAPLV and about 30 with ESA (variable).
  • Duration of studies: 7 years + 1 optional year (HMONP).
